The PRD series bidirectional DC power supply is a programmable power supply with source and load functions, automatic two-quadrant operation, and the ability to absorb energy from the unit under test(UUT) and feedback to the grid. The HV DC power supply from ActionPower is widely used in PV inverters, energy storage systems, solar panel simulations and energy storage battery/capacitor simulations in PV/storage inverter systems. It is also suitable for electric vehicles on-board chargers, DC/AC motor drivers, bi-directional DC converter simulation battery testing, and other applications.

1.High Power Density

This solar array simulator features high power density as shown in:

  • Power levels of up to 30 kW within a 3U volume.
  • Weights as light as 35 kg, with a single standard 42U rack capable of accommodating 300 kW capacity.
  • Feedback loss of 5%, with 95% efficiency.
  • Significantly reduces testing footprint, meeting standard commercial office transportation, load-bearing requirements, and distribution demands.

 

2.Ultra-High Precision

The HV power supply PRD series offers output voltage accuracy of up to ±0.02% F.S. Additionally, The DC power module features a built-in independent high-precision voltage and current measurement system, delivering performance comparable to a 6½-digit digital multimeter. This setup saves costs associated with high-voltage, high-precision DC voltmeters, high-precision ammeters, power meters, and impedance meters, enhancing testing efficiency while reducing testing expenses.

 

3.High Dynamics

The rise time of the bidirectional DC power supply from 10% to 90% is only 318 μs, which is significantly faster than similar products.

During source-load conversion from -100% to 100%, the variable high voltage power supply PRD achieves smooth results with a minimal overshoot in just 1 ms.
